The Benefits of Support Groups

This week's newsletter is devoted to
all who facilitate and participate in
support groups for
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren!

We know that these are challenging times for everyone.
We are all missing our usual routines and coping strategies for stressful times like going to the gym, meeting up with friends for coffee, or attending our "Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group." Luckily technology has found a way to keep us all connected. It is as important now than ever to stay connected with each other, to support each other, and just be there (virtually!) for each other.

Many GRG support groups have started meeting virtually. We strongly encourage you to reach out to the support group facilitator in your community to see if they are holding meetings via zoom or some other platform. If you are not already connected to a GRG support group in your community, or you always wanted to attend but could't get to meeting in person, now is a GREAT time to connect.

If you facilitate a GRG support group and are in need of technical support to host meetings via zoom, please contact the Commission.

And if you are a grandparent or a relative caregiver and you are not sure that zoom support groups are for you, please take a moment to watch the video below.
