Volunteer to Facilitate a Virtual ELI Conversation Circle for Fall 2021
Register by Friday, September 17, by 11:59 PM EDT
The English Language Institute's Conversation Circles will once again be offered virtually this fall.

Each circle consists of up to four participants and is led by a volunteer facilitator. Participants meet via an online platform to talk about any topic of interest, play games, and share pictures and videos.

No previous experience is necessary. All facilitators will receive an orientation to the program and training on how to facilitate conversation circles virtually.

To be a facilitator, you only need to:
  • Be a current U-M student, faculty, or staff member
  • Be a fluent speaker of English who is very knowledgeable about U.S. culture
  • Commit to volunteering 1 hour per week for ten weeks
  • Attend a one-hour orientation session if you are a first-time facilitator
