Lead-Love-Learn
Lyon Families,

Thank you for the grace you have provided our Lyon staff. We are taking on a new platform of learning, attempting to provide our students with quality activities and letting go of the "art of teaching". We know it hasn't been perfect, but thank you for attempting! We miss our kiddos so much, and wish we could all be back under the Lyon roof learning together. Please send them our hugs and love as we hope to see their smiles again soon!

Sincerely,

Casey Mitchell, principal
Leanne Gove, assistant principal

Hello Lyon Families! We hope this finds each of you doing well, staying healthy and settling into a daily routine as we embark on unchartered territory as a nation and community. Your Lyon Counseling Team wanted to reach out and let you know that we are thinking of your children and your family in these unprecedented times. We can understand the personal and professional challenges some of you may be facing. We too are working hard to find balance in our own daily lives while beginning to work from home, keeping the well-being of our children in mind as well as managing our households just like so many of you are doing. Let us encourage you to Sharpen your Saw by making time for exercise, eating healthy, reading something just for fun, playing a game with your children, and encouraging quiet time for self-renewal. Amidst all this uncertainty, look for the silver lining in your household. Some of your silver linings may be a slower pace, more quality family time, an opportunity to do something you love or catch up on something that's been on your to-do list. However you decide to Sharpen your Saw, please know that an added benefit is that you'll be setting a great example to your child/children on how to deal with stress, anxiety and uncertainty in healthy ways.
Also, be looking for counseling lessons in your child's teacher communication coming out weekly. There are some great talking points for you as a family to help your child deal with some of the emotions they may be experiencing. Please know we are here for you, should you need us don't hesitate to send us an email and we'll get back with you! Stay healthy and stay positive!!
