Christmas Eve Candlelight Sing-Along
Within our Christmas Eve worship service, which will be available for viewing any time after 3:30 p.m. on December 24, our choir will sing "Silent Night" in a way that will allow you to see them as they sing. We invite you to have a candle handy to light as you join along in singing with them and the rest of the congregation. The song will follow immediately after the announcements in that service. Thank you Norm Hyde for producing this virtual choir musical offering!
Diocesan-Wide Worship this Sunday
Your Bishops will host a pre-recorded Diocesan-wide Christmas service of Lessons and Music this Sunday, December 27. The service goes active at 8:00 a.m. The service will be available on YouTube and Facebook. Bishop Goff will preside and the service will feature Scripture readings and music from congregations across the Diocese. Click here to access the service bulletin.
Generosity Campaign Update
Your faithful financial support has us at 85% to our goal of $660,000 for 2021. Thank you! We are connected, even when we are apart...your generosity of time, talent, and treasure leads the church towards the future. If you would like to make a gift of stock or a year-end gift by check or credit card, please contact Judy Bowman at 804.359.5628 ext. 14 before December 30. You can pledge your support online in less than two minutes
Thank You Bill!
Please join us for our virtual coffee hour on Sunday January 3 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. Together we will share a virtual "goodbye" to our Interim Rector, Bill Queen, on his last day with us, and thank him for all he's done for GHTC! There will be a special presentation at the beginning of the coffee hour and we will have an opportunity to spend a little time together before our new rector, Duane Nettles, arrives on January 4, 2021.
Pastoral Care and Emergencies
Please, if you need anything over the holiday season, do not hesitate to reach out to the clergy on our cell phones. The holidays can be incredibly challenging, even when we're not in the middle of a pandemic. We are here to be your spiritual support as best we can.
Winter Wellness 2020-2021
We encourage you this Winter to pray daily and make time each week to engage with the practice, resource, or reflection put together by the Winter Wellness Women. This week’s reflection comes from Estelle Brodeur and is entitled “Honoring your Body By Building Awareness”. Next week’s session will come from Caroline Speirs Coffill. Thank you for endeavoring to care for yourself, body, mind, and spirit this season.
CirclesRVA Recognized
Back in 2018, Grace and Holy Trinity helped get CirclesRVA started in our community. Recently, the group received some excellent media coverage...check out the Richmond Magazine story. Don't have a subscription? You can read it here. Thanks to your support of CirclesRVA (through the church's annual operating budget) we are helping to change the lives of others in our local community.
Personal Calls Instead of Poinsettias
Usually, we distribute 25 or so poinsettias for Christmas to people who are ill or homebound. Due to COVID precautions, we will not be able to do this. If you usually deliver poinsettias, please consider having a phone visit with one of our members during the 12 days of Christmas. You can contact Mother Kim to get a name and phone number of a parishioner who would normally receive a blooming poinsettia.
Red Door Christmas and New Years
Thank you to everyone who donated for the Red Door Christmas and New Years Gift Cards. We were able to meet our goal and everyone will receive a generous gift! Many thanks to our Red Door Leadership team especially Amber Weaver, our kitchen coordinator, for leading this important effort so that people will have a meal on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

In case you were wondering what contactless meal distribution looks like, follow the Red Door Ministry on Facebook.
Race at Grace
As we continue to endeavor to respect the dignity of every human being, and love one another as Christ loves us, with God’s help. You are invited to add your own recommendations to the list of reading, watching, and listening materials on our website and to participate in the journey towards racial equity, relationship building, on your own journey. Recent additions to the resources have come from Nick Sollog and Nancy Trego. Thank you for the recommendations! Contact Mo. Kim or Bill if you’d like to add your voice to the conversation. A link and a short reflection of the material is greatly appreciated.
Next Steps Committee
Your Vestry is constituting a committee to look at the next steps for us as a parish to respond to the important issues of racial equity and justice. In order to tap into your wisdom and commitment, the Vestry is seeking parishioner volunteers to be a part of this committee. If you are interested, or just want to know more, please contact Thomas Ewers or Barbara Derry
