I am grateful for Candace’s reflections on her faith growing up and how we live a life of faith. It resonates with the acronym WWJD, “What would Jesus do?” that was so popular in recent years. More recently, it has been put “What would Jesus have you do?”—putting the focus on our response to Jesus’ life and death and resurrection; and that is core to our gospel. Please enjoy this reflection as you ask that question.

I grew up in a household that was full of God in every way imaginable. God was always in our midst thanks to a picture of our Savior on top of the piano, the holding of hands and bowing of our heads to bless every meal, and the kind and respectful ways in which my mother, father, brother and I treated one another. This fierce devotion to faith, home, and family has been my port of call my whole life. Whenever I was struggling with the best way to handle a situation, my parents would simply look at me and say, “What would the Savior do, Candace?” These five words reveal THE GUIDEBOOK on how to live.

I encourage you to incorporate this question into your daily lives. I think that you will find it to be immeasurably helpful during both the easy times, and times like the present—that test our resolve.

May God Bless each and every one of you.
