On September 22nd, American Business Women’s Day honors the accomplishments of the businesswomen across the nation. Take a moment to reflect on the contributions and achievements of the millions of women in the workforce. Also, consider the impact of millions of women business owners in the U.S.
The day also brings together businesswomen of diverse occupations to collaborate and network. The opportunity provides insight into platforms and inspirational ways for women to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally. Workshops and seminars offer leadership, education, networking, and national recognition.
Through small businesses and corporate leadership, women provide a variety of skills in the business world. They set examples for young women driven to become leaders themselves. Generation after generation pave the way for new and inspiring professionals. This day honors each and every one!

TED TALKS FOR BUSINESS WOMEN
|
|
- The Real Reason Female Entrepreneurs Get Less Funding
- Women own 39 percent of all businesses in the US, but female entrepreneurs get only two percent of venture funding. What's causing this gap? Dana Kanze shares research suggesting that it might be the types of questions start-up founders get asked when they're invited to pitch. Whether you're starting a new business or just having a conversation, learn how to spot the kinds of questions you're being asked -- and how to respond more effectively.
- How To Find The Person Who Can Help You Get Ahead At Work
- The workplace is often presented as a meritocracy, where you can succeed by putting your head down and working hard. Wall Street veteran Carla Harris learned early in her career that this a myth. The key to actually getting ahead? Get a sponsor: a person who will speak on your behalf in the top-level, closed-door meetings you're not invited to (yet). Learn how to identify and develop a productive sponsor relationship in this candid, powerful talk.
- Know Your Worth, And Then Ask For It
- Your customers probably aren't paying you what you're worth -- instead, they're paying you what they think you're worth. Take the time to learn how to shape their thinking. Pricing consultant Casey Brown shares helpful stories and learnings that can help you better communicate your value and get paid for your excellence.
- Women In Business: Entirely Unremarkable
- Kirsten Hall has a provocative question: is it time to stop celebrating women in business, just for being women in business? Maybe, she suggests, we can wind down the idea of corporate women's groups - and position women in business as the new normal.

National Women's Friendship Day
September 19, 2021
|
|
Have you ever met up with an old friend, someone you hadn't seen in years? We always fall back on the same explanation; you know, the one that says we meant to keep in touch but life is so busy and time goes by too fast. Even those closest to us are often victims of life's demands.
I am sure that most of us are familiar with good intentions - the phone call we thought to make, the letter we meant to write, or the lunch date we wanted to plan. Well, now you have been given the perfect excuse, National Women's Friendship Day.
Created in 1999 by Kappa Delta Sorority, this day (the third Sunday of September) is dedicated to celebrating friendship and honoring those special women in our lives. Whether it be a lifelong friend, mother, sister, neighbor, teacher, or the parent you chat with at your kid's soccer game, we all know amazing women who have touched our lives in some way.
These are the ones who have made a difference, who have impacted and inspired us, held our hands, wiped our tears, encouraged our dreams, supported us, laughed with us, and had the guts to be honest with us. They are often the unsung heroes.

Women are the Glue that Hold Society Together - Join Us for Their Stories
|
|
|
Family members, neighbors, teachers, mentors... all have helped to shape the strong, independent women we see today... but that doesn't mean that life hasn't come with its own set of struggles, pitfalls, and setbacks. In fact, those are what make us stronger so that we can overcome the next hurdle!
In an effort to share in that solidarity, we created the Women STaRs Podcast, where we interview strong, determined women about their Struggles, Triumphs, and Reflections on life and career. Interviews are full of inspiration, encouragement, helpful tips, and precious moments of "that's just what I needed to hear."
