Dear PCSD1 Students and Families,

As we are wrapping up Week 1 of the PCSD1 Remote Learning Program, we were able to gather information about what is working and what is not working and will adjust accordingly. One of the things at which we are taking a close look is appropriate workload at each grade level. We appreciate your patience while we fine-tune this process.

Governor Polis Extends Closure of Schools Through April 30
On Wednesday, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced that he is lengthening the suspension of in-person learning in Colorado’s schools through April 30, revising the original order that had been set to expire on April 17. Polis reiterated that it remains unlikely that schools will return to in-person learning this school year. Similarly, the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) has extended its suspension of spring sports to April 30th as well. Obviously, this closure includes all schools (and activities) in the Platte Canyon School District 1.

While this order does not extend through the remainder of the school year, we expect that we will extend our remote learning program through May 23. We are still hopeful that some of the social distancing requirements will be eased in May, but also understand that this may not be possible. We will continue to update you all as we get more information.
