What a slog this week has been, trying to put together people and technology with the aim of remaining in better touch during this difficult time. Many of my own efforts failed or fell short or await help from others. Speaking of whom: my thanks to Organist David White and Verger Mary Beth Hwang with regard to a couple of ideas that have been realized and a few others that are moving forward. I pray you may be able to share in Morning Prayer at 8:30 a.m. and/or for a Low Mass at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday the 29th, the Fifth Sunday in Lent), both 'live' even if not in person. Yes, but what is Zoom? And how do I use it? Zoom is a video conferencing media that is being rapidly adapted by many Episcopalians as a preferred format for sharing the Daily Office. Verger Mary Beth Hwang has agreed to host a connection and officiate at Morning Prayer (from her home on the northwest side) on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. In theory, anyone with a desktop computer, laptop or smart phone should be able to take part. Apparently you could even take part from a land line phone (provided it doesn't have a rotary dial ...).You'll want to come back here and click this link to take part. Alternately, you may go to the Zoom app or website and type in the following Meeting ID: 792 031 7452.

What urgency merits going into the church proper at this time is a complicated equation. For me, I felt compelled this afternoon to take care of a weekly task normally done by Sacristan Thom Ehlen: putting a new 7-day candle in the Sanctuary Lamp. With reference to the middle photo--yes, I did replace the decorative brass cap! And I chose to offer the remainder of this past week's candle with at the Mary shrine. - Fr. Raymond +
