Ladies,
Come Help Decorate the Church for Christmas

As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another. - 1 Peter 4:10

On Monday, December 2, we will begin decorating the church.  We will meet in the Sanctuary at 9:30 am.  Nursery available upon request only.  Please contact Virginia Saunders at   205-914-4034 if you are willing to help.

This year Advent will begin
Sunday, December 1st.

Why is talking about Advent important for our kids? Because, just like us adults, they need reminders. Christmas is supposed to be full of Happiness, Joyfulness, Peacefulness, Kindness and Giving. If you talk about the preparation and read an advent for your child each day or night, you will be guarding your hearts from burnout, comparison, fear, pride and replacing the tangle with happy expectation - love - joy. Joy as a family.

One way that the Children's Ministries found to help your family prepare for the coming of Jesus is to provide you with few advent resources. We pray that this year's choice can help you and your family! If you don't have an Advent activity yet, please look for the CM Advent Resource Table on the 2nd floor of the Education Building!

We will have one of the following available per family.

*    Wonders of His love - It is a wonder that God sent his only Son, that Jesus humbled himself to be born in a manger and live in poverty. Celebrate those wonders, and many more, as a family! Together, each day of the season, prepare for the coming of the Lord through Scripture, reflection, prayers and activities.
*  Come to Bethlehem and See- Open a different "window" each day of December to reveal an image! These calendars have a picture and a Bible passage behind each window. The back of each calendar leads your young people on an "Advent Treasure Hunt" each day with a question, a riddle or a fill-in-the-blank ... answered or filled in when you open the window on the other side.

Blanket Drive

Meredith Crego is having a blanket drive for the needy for her senior project. If you have any new or used blankets you would be willing to donate, please bring it to one of the receptacles in either King Hall, the Crossing, or the Education Building. The deadline to contribute is December 15. If you have any questions please contact Meredith at (706) 676-3722 or meredithcrego11@gmail.com.

Mission Spotlight : Operation Christmas Child

'Tis the season to pack a shoebox!  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared, families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started, and communities are transformed.  Boxes to fill are available by each Welcome Area.  You may also donate funds to have a box packed on your behalf.  OCC boxes will be dedicated on Sunday, November 17th.  Please drop off your filled boxes by that date.
