VCNP Nominations for State Leadership

VCNP Nominations & Awards Committee is seeking nominations
for the 2022-2024 term for the following state positions:
President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Are you interested in becoming part of the VCNP state leadership, or know someone who is? Complete a Nomination Form and email to vcnp@vcnp.net by September 30.

If you have already submitted a nomination, you do not need to submit again.

The current Secretary and Treasurer have met their term limits and cannot serve a third term in their current position. However, they can be elected to serve in a different executive committee position, if nominated.

NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE STATE LEADERSHIP ONLY.
Members will receive a request for the nominations for regional leadership from their regional Nominations & Awards representative, if their region is holding an election.
If you have already submitted a nomination form, there is no need to submit a second time.

VCNP Board Position Descriptions

President-elect: This is a six year obligation including two years as President elect, two years as President, and two years as Past-President.
  1. Presides over any meetings in the absence of the president.
  2. Assumes the presidency if the president steps down.
  3. Serves on the Governmental Relations Committee.
  4. Attends VCNP Board of Director meetings.
  5. Attends VCNP Executive Committee meetings.
  6. Performs duties as assigned by the President.
 
Secretary: This is a two year term with the option to be re-elected twice.
  1. Serves a two-year term. May serve two successive terms.
  2. Records minutes of all VCNP meetings and sends copies of minutes to the Management company for distribution to all Board members within one month of each meeting.
  3. Maintains a record of the group.
  4. Acts as official correspondent for the group.
  5. Serves as an ex-officio member of the Bylaws and Policies committee, Membership committee, and the Nominating committee.
  6. Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by the President.
 
Treasurer: This is a two year term with the option to be re-elected twice.
  1. Keep all financial records and pays all obligations of the VCNP.
  2. Submit a financial report at each regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors, and if necessary at any special meeting.
  3. Serve as the chair of the Finance Committee, which will plan the annual budget and oversee and make recommendations about other fiscal decisions.
  4. Keep financial records in such order that an independent audit can be conducted every two years.
VCNP Elections Process

  • Nominations will be collected through September 30.
  • The ballot will be distributed November 1.
  • The election will be open from November 1 to November 15.
  • The Nominations & Awards Committee, who serve as official Tellers for VCNP, will certify the results and share with the VCNP Board in January before announcing to the membership.
  • New leadership will be placed into office during the Membership Lunch at the 2022 VCNP Annual Conference.
