Economic Development- April
Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) to increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities, and improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.
AAED is participating this year and our theme is:  Resilient Arizona Communities.

Over the course of the week, we will be highlighting the ways Arizona communities are staying strong during the COVID-19 pandemic through innovation and collaboration. We will be sharing mini-interviews, webinars, resources, and featuring Arizona communities on our social media platforms.

Get started by downloading our Economic Development Toolkit  here!

About Casa Grande is Open for Business
This page is made possible by The Greater Chamber of Commerce, APS and The City of Casa Grande. The partnership created this website for the purpose of letting YOUR customers/clients know about the hours and days your business is open and how they can reach you.

Our website is designed as a community service and it is FREE ; open to all local businesses and no membership is required. We just want all of our local customers/clients to know that Casa Grande Is Open For Business.

If you are interested in being a part of the community-business website, please take a moment to fill out the brief survey, so we can gauge the interest of all of Casa Grande's businesses. Survey!

"Lucid's Arizona Factory Continues to Take Shape"
" On April 23, a ship called One Humber left Japan with 14 containers of robotic and precision tooling equipment destined for the body shop at  Lucid’s new Arizona factory  — the first purpose-built all-EV manufacturing facility in North America. We watched a satellite tracker in eager anticipation as the ship crossed the Pacific Ocean and arrived a week later at the Port of Los Angeles.

It’s just the first of nine shipments totaling 85 containers of equipment we will receive in the coming months from our supplier Hokuto, which will enable us to manufacture the  Lucid Air’s all-aluminum advanced body structure . And it’s all coming exactly on schedule without any delay — even as we maintain the safest possible environment for everyone working on the project at the factory site." Read more...
Build Grant- Burris Road Overpass (PUBLIC COMMENT)
This BUILD grant application has the resounding support of a public and private partnership that includes Pinal County, the City of Casa Grande, Sun Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization, Nacero and others.

Burris Road Overpass Project will enable the closure of an at-grade rail crossing at Ethington Road and the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway, as well as the existing entry onto the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway from Burris Road North.

The BUILD funding will be used to improve access to and from the industrial park where Nacero Casa Grande is located, to accommodate the increased traffic Nacero will generate during construction and once manufacturing operations begin. In addition, the Burris Road Overpass will enhance access across the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway for other industrial park tenants.

Community Resources
The Census Bureau will mail a code to each household in March 2020 directing the head of the household to complete the short 9-question form, online. Just one person completes the questionnaire for everyone living in the household. The Census is Private, Safe and Secure. Citizenship is NOT required. Even Winter Residents (Canadians, etc.) can complete the Census and choose Casa Grande. Count EVERYONE living with you. For everyone counted, our community receives nearly $3K/person annually for schools, roads, hospitals and more. The response deadline is June 30, 2020. However, Census workers will begin following up in-person with households that have not responded by April 30, 2020. From babies to seniors...
