Mini Mermaid Tales
Coming next year, there will be an easier Mermaid Tales series. It will be specifically for second graders with more pictures and easier text.
II was quite shocked to see another icon of children's literature, Floyd Cooper, has passed away. He enthralled me with a talk he gave at a Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators meeting a few years ago. He worked by a subtraction process, taking away ink to create a picture. It was stunning to see him work in person. Above is the book my oldest son had of his. He created so many beautiful stories. Do you have a favorite?
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
I am so looking forward to finally having our family Christmas celebration, only eight months late. It will be a bittersweet time because we will be missing my beloved youngest son. I had to laugh the other day when someone told me online how well they thought I was doing. If they only knew how many times a day I cry. He valued his privacy and didn't like me to post anything about him, but I miss him so much.
