Turkey Trot

November 28, 7-10am

Every year Veritas helps take part in Gurnee's
Turkey Trot 5k run that takes place Thanksgiving
morning. This event is partially a fundraising event for our Panama mission trip and there is an
expectation for those who were part of that team
or plan to be in the future to volunteer for to help
with this event. Volunteering consists of encouraging runners with signs and water, along
with helping to provide snacks at the end of the
race. You can sign up to help with this event at
youth group or by sending me an email confirming you will be there.

Panama Information Meeting

November 24th, 12:30pm

Team preparations for the Panama mission trip are about to get underway. We are holding a meeting for students, parents, and interested adult volunteers to obtain any information that will help in forming a decision on whether or not to be a part of this year's team. Please join us in the community room after 2nd service on November 24th and bring lunch with you as we discuss this year's summer mission trip.

Veritas Christmas Party

Dec. 15th 6-8:30pm @ GCC

Our last youth group of 2019 we will be having our annual Christmas party. Students should bring a wrapped white elephant gift to exchange that is $5 or less in value. Also, bring your favorite holiday snack to share with the group. The church will provide pizza & drinks for everyone. Should be another great night with lots of great games planned!

Winter Retreat (MS & HS)

One of my favorite things we do together as a youth group is our winter retreat. It is a great opportunity for students to bond together over a weekend filled with fun and activities.

This year we will be going to Camp Timber-lee. The total cost is $150 and registrations form (download here) need to be completed and turned in with the money by January 5th. 

As always, I am committed to making sure finances are not a road block for families, so please let me know if you are in need of a scholarship.
