In this spring e-news, we are pleased to share updates on seven employment opportunities, our online resources, webinars and more, but first we wanted to comment on coronavirus.

While ensuring safe and healthy work practices, our Council is committed to committed to ensuring that all of our programs and resources remain available to you online and by request. Currently most of our resources and programs are available through our website, however we are working to grow these online tools at this time so that we can make sure that British Columbians have the tools needed to respond to invasive species. BC’s lakes and rivers are at risk from the threat of invasive species and ISCBC is looking for a passionate voice from BC’s youth to help raise awareness. ISCBC wants youth to get excited and speak out about their favourite bodies of water to help protect them from aquatic invasive species and preserve them for years to come! March Webinar - Invasive Species 101
Join us on March 25 for Invasive Species 101, an inspiring webinar to connect youth making a difference in their local environments.

Do you want to make a difference in your community? This webinar will explain how you and your friends can have fun outdoors and protect BC’s biodiversity at the same time! ISCBC's Nick Wong will define what makes a non-native species invasive, present some species to keep an eye out for, describe programs and share things you can do to preserve BC’s amazing biodiversity.
April Webinar - Grass Gone Bad
Join us online on April 22 for Grass Gone Bad: New Invasive Species of Concern to B.C.’s Grasslands

Become a part of the solution - learn how to identify and report new invasive grassland species. Invasive plants can threaten our natural resources, areas of cultural significance, infrastructure, and the health of people, animals and our environment. We have an opportunity to avoid these risks from plants that are new or not yet present in the province. The provincial Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) Program seeks to identify, contain and eradicate new invasive species early before this opportunity is lost. Becky Brown, who's with BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, will focus on several new invasive plant species that pose significant threats to BC’s grasslands, including how to identify and report them and the most likely places they will occur.
INVASIVES 2020 Highlights
