Please join the Largo Police Department in congratulating the Traffic Safety officers. Their unit has placed in the top three for 2019 in the Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge! This high honor compares comprehensive traffic safety programs all over the state of Florida and rates their effectiveness in reducing traffic-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
|
|
This award is the result of the hard work by the members of the unit and they should be commended for their dedication. Their job is not an easy one but they have shown the commitment and the passion that it takes to make a difference. The top finisher will be announced in August at an awards ceremony.

Congratulations
Cheryl Reed (AD)
"Cheryl was instrumental in the planning of, and submission for, a $15,000 grant administered through the Pinellas Community Foundation that will help law enforcement provide crisis intervention and stabilization for Largo seniors in need of basic sustenance provisions who have no other family or neighborly resources to assist them. Oftentimes LPD receives calls for service from seniors in need of assistance or from concerned neighbors, and when law enforcement responds out, often encounter seniors in need of acute crisis stabilization. This grant will provide another resource for law enforcement to provide superior services to senior residents by connecting them with the local Meals on Wheels program for which they would otherwise be waitlisted. This resource connection allows for the senior to receive immediate assistance until family can provide care or they can be connected to other long-term community care resources, whereby they can receive the care and assistance they need and their quality of life improves.

The Wall Street Journal
, The Intelligent Investor, Cabin Fever Can Wreck Investment Plans
By Jason Zweig, May 12, 2020
Now that I'm back after a few days off, it's even more obvious that my work days aren't structured the way they used to be. Meetings are whenever; exercise and meal times move around as if they had minds of their own. Maybe you're finding the same. So it's worth reminding ourselves that chaotic schedules and cabin fever aren't conducive to good investment decision-making.
