4-H County Activity Day
~ Final Submissions are due Monday, May 18th ~
|
4-H Presentations
4-H presentations is a competition where youth speak for 5-12 minutes on a topic that interests them. Topics can range from how to create a pet first aid kit, the invention of Legos or even a supreme court case. Participants compete against other youth in their age group and topic categories. County winners will advance to the district and state level competitions.
This competition will be held online this year. Here are the rules, parameters, and changes you should be aware of:
- Participants must register their presentation at this link.
- Presenters will submit a 5-12 minute video of their final presentation to the 4-H agent at [email protected].
- You may submit your presentation via YouTube link, Vimeo, Google Drive, or drop off at the 4-H office on a jump drive.
- Your video should be unedited and uncut - all one clip.
- Team presentations should use zoom or something similar to record both participants on the screen at the same time.
- More information about the 4-H presentation rules and guidelines can be found at this link.
- Here is a video designed to hep you "Prepare and Set Up Your 4-H Presentation"
- All county presentations are due by May 18, 2020.
- The county judges will deliberate over the following week.
- Participants will receive final placings and judges feedback once judging is complete.
- Presentations in the outdoor cookery categories will occur later in the year.
4-H Talent Show/Entertains
Every
year, we are blown away by the immense talents of our 4-H youth. If you plan to participate as a single act, we look forward to seeing your submissions.
- Please be sure to register your act at this link.
- Please submit your video to the 4-H agent at [email protected].
- You may submit your video via YouTube link, Vimeo, Google Drive, or drop off at the 4-H office on a jump drive.
- Final video submissions for county judging are due May 18, 2020.
If you would like to create something as a team outside of your immediate family, we will need to wait to receive those submissions until later in the year.
We are here to help you! We know that this is a new experience and it may be scary for you. Don't let fear hold you back. Together, we can do this! Please reach out to the county 4-H staff, your club leaders and other volunteers if you need help or have questions.

4-H International Pen Pal Summer Program Interest
|
The inbound and outbound International program has been canceled for Summer 2020. However, there is an opportunity to possibly still participate with the States' 4-H National Organization for international exchanges to establish a pen pal for 4-H members and families to engage with an international child and/or family.
Due to a high interest, the States' 4-H office is in the process of securing future spots for the PenPal program should more delegates from other countries be added. To gauge the interest of members, please complete the
NC 4-H International PenPal Interest Form if you would like to be considered to participate in the international PenPal Program. If open spots become available a list of names from North Carolina will be shared with States' 4-H for consideration. The States' officer will base placement on age, therefore, it is important to complete the form.
