HFUMC Flood Relief Efforts
Our friends to the west desperately need our help. Recent flooding has devastated their community, washing away not only homes, but also loved ones and yes, even children. As Christ's body here on earth, we are compelled to help. Please search your hearts and consider giving to those suffering in Waverly and Humphreys County.

There are four ways you can help: your gifts, your donations, your time, and your prayers.

GIFTS: HFUMC has set up a special fund for Flood Relief. You can give online here, or simply text "HFUMC flood" to 73256 to give using your mobile device. NOTE: This number will never send unsolicited texts to you. To cancel further messages, text STOP. If you need assistance with text giving, text HELP. Standard text message and data rates may apply.

DONATIONS: HFUMC is also serving as an UMCOR Donation Site. We will be accepting UMCOR relief items, beginning this Friday. Items can be dropped off M-F, from 7:30 - 4pm, and Sunday from 8am - 12pm, at the church. A U-haul truck will be parked in the church parking lot for donations. Acceptable donations are listed here. While we certainly appreciate everyone's generosity and desire to help, please do not bring items other than the ones listed as they will not be able to be delivered for flood relief.

TIME: In the coming days and weeks, HFUMC will be organizing clean-up crews to visit and assist in any way we can. The details are still being worked out and will be shared as soon as possible.

PRAYER: If you are unable to give or donate supplies, please continue to pray for this community.
Abram and Lot: A Powerful Lesson
Have you ever noticed how the company you keep changes can impact your thoughts, your words, and your behaviors? That was certainly the case for Abram and Lot. This Sunday, we'll continue our Onward series by taking a look at their relationship, and how we can apply the lesson they learned to our lives today.
UMW Set to Reconvene September 14
The United Methodist Women of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church will have its first meeting in many months Tuesday, September 14 , 2021. They will gather and have fellowship and refreshments at 10:00 am, with the meeting beginning at 10:30 am. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

The speaker for this meeting will be Cryz Zinkiewic, who will bring a faith based program on our participation in caring for our earth. Subsequently, she has followed her passion for loving God and loving neighbor through her commitment to creation care and environmental justice. Fall Groups Start in 10 Days! Have You Signed Up?
We're a little more than a week away from the launch of our fall small groups, and our prayer this fall is that everyone find a small group that meets us where we are. We have Discipleship Groups and several good Bible studies - some are geared toward men, others toward women, and many are co-ed. Descriptions of each are available here, along with a link to register.

All small groups begin the week after Labor Day. If you have questions, more info is at hfumc.org/adult-small-groups, or you can text the number below.
