OUR MISSION: Supportive Independent Living in a

From Executive Director,
Lynn Ann Clausing Rusch

Fall officially began on September 22 and we already see the signs of the changing season. Days are shorter, the leaves are changing color, football season is in full swing, the World Series is just around the corner and autumn-themed events flavor our lives.
The change of seasons can be exciting and filled with activities and holidays that we look forward to. It can also be unsettling as we know that cold weather limits our ability to get out and enjoy the outdoors. COVID limits our opportunities to be social and many of us (our tenants included) face loneliness and depression due to social isolation.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that: "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

There are many examples of seasons we face in life: birth, death, weeping and joy. The Bible tells us that experiencing good and bad times in our lives is normal and to be expected.

As we say goodbye to summer and turn our attention to autumn and Thanksgiving Day celebrations, let us remember the good plans that He has for us and our future, both here on earth and in Heaven.
Online Silent Auction

Our First Annual Online Silent Auction will be held on November 12-21. With the cancellation of some of our in-person fundraising events this year we have created an Online Silent Auction.

Stay tuned - more information will be announced on our website and in the November newsletter. Your participation and support are greatly appreciated as we strive to raise funds to meet our budget goals to support our Mission and Ministry.
Fellowship, Music & Sunshine

Prince of Peace Spirit entertained us with an inspiring blue grass music concert on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in September. Thanks to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Neenah, Care Patrol of the Fox Cities and Thrivent for your sponsorship.
Grateful for Volunteer Support
The month of September brought us many talented volunteers that helped our staff with painting, grounds care and landscape projects. Thanks to the Rosin Family, Jodi Galeazzi, Joyce Lee and Steve Jansen for your time and talents spent in beautifying our grounds.

Upgrade of Our Raised Bed Gardens
Special thanks to Trinity Lutheran Church for a grant from their foundation to upgrade our raised bed gardens. Tenants plant the gardens for their personal use and share their bounty with other members of our community. Thanks to all the volunteers who supported this project.
God's Work, Our Hands

Members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church spent the afternoon sprucing up our grounds as part of "God's Work, Our Hands, Sunday". Many hands made quick work of a VERY LARGE pile of landscape mulch. We are blessed to have such hardworking supporters.

St Mark's members also provided our tenants care packages. Thank you for remembering our tenants.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS
FVLH Board Hosts Tenant Picnic
Our annual tenant picnic was served "COVID" style as we distributed lunch to our tenant's apartments. Special thanks to a Thrivent Action Team grant for supporting this activity as well as to our dedicated board and staff members who donated and prepared our tasty lunch.
Thanks to Thrivent and Their Policy Holders!

The Ministry of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes is able to continue to serve our tenants because of generous supporters. Are you a Thrivent policy holder that would like to support the social and/or education programs we offer to our tenants? You can apply for an Action Team grant to support a special need, project or activity right here at Linwood Place. Thrivent offers financial resources to increase the impact of the project. Donate On-Line through PayPal

Due to the pandemic, many of our fund-raising opportunities have been canceled. We look forward to the time when, once again, our seniors will be able to participate in programs that are vitally important to them.  Programs that meet their holistic needs of mind, body and spirit help them maintain a quality of life. This is possible because of support from people like you. Please consider making a donation to support our ministry. You can mail your donation to the address above or make an online donation by clicking here.

Again, we thank you for remembering this growing group of elders that need our support through the ministry of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes.

Fox Valley Lutheran Homes is a non-profit corporation affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and area congregations. The board of directors is composed of community leaders, clergy and dedicated volunteers who guide the operation and plan for the future.
