Are you looking for support during these uncertain times?  Sheltering in place can be extra challenging with intense, sensitive kids.

Since we can't meet in person right now, please join our weekly online support groups for parents of gifted/2e school-age children and teens. Led by Dr. Lisa White and Dr. Ellena Chen, we will discuss how we and our children are handling the stresses of social distancing and sheltering in place, and share resources on making this time easier for everyone. We will use Google Meet for confidential discussion. Group is limited to 10 members.

Register Now!

Group participation costs $120 per person for the 3 sessions. Pre-registration is required. Register early as space is limited. Sessions will be refunded if shelter-in-place order is lifted.

Ellena Chen, Psy.D., is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in collaborative strength-based work with children and their families. She provides a range of services, including individual and family counseling, psychological assessments, and consultations. Dr. Chen is passionate about twice-exceptionality, parenting, and helping children and families who are struggling with learning differences, ADHD, and anxiety. As a parent of two young children, Dr. Chen has an in-depth understanding of the rollercoaster of emotions that can come with raising a child, and partners with parents to provide a continuity of care. She is a certified SENG facilitator.

Dr. Lisa White has been with Summit Center since its inception in 2009, and has worked with gifted and twice-exceptional children for over 15 years. She provides strengths-based, comprehensive psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations for children and adolescents, as well as consultations and coaching with parents. She has special interests in the particular needs of gifted girls and in how overexcitabilities impact gifted teens' dating and relationships, and has given talks to local parent groups and schools. She also speaks to teachers about identifying and educating gifted and twice-exceptional students in the classroom. Other clinical interests include the social and emotional development of gifted and twice-exceptional children, and children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD.

Summit Center offers psychological and educational assessments and counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. We specialize in those who may be gifted, creative, or twice-exceptional (both gifted and with learning differences). Summit Center offers additional support groups virtually and in Torrance, CA.
