O COME,
ALL YE FAITHFUL
Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.… For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. – John 1:14, 16 (ESV)

The culmination of Scripture is Christ. He is our Savior, God’s bridge to man. Coming as a baby, “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” He tabernacled among us. So, he is near, familiar, and approachable. In his humanity, he suffered sickness, sadness, loneliness, frustration, rejection and temptation – all the highs and lows that we face. But unlike us, he was without sin, which is exactly what we needed. We needed the Word to identify with us, but we also needed a righteous that we could never earn. This is Jesus Christ. This is your Savior. So, come. Come and adore him. Come joyful and triumphant, because through him, “we have all received, grace upon grace.”
Holy Father, in our flesh, our religion is empty. We have labored to purchase that which is not for sale and have failed. But the Word came to offer what we could never earn. Jesus, you have ransomed the lost with your life as payment. You are full of grace and truth. In fact, you are the standard of truth – the plumb line of life. By your grace through faith, we have been saved (Eph. 2:8-9). We rejoice in your salvation. We rejoice in a salvation that triumphs over sin and death.

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord!
God of God, Light of Light
Lo, He abhors not the Virgin's womb
Very God
Begotten, not created
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord!
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God
All glory in the highest
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord!
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning
Jesus, to Thee be glory given
Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord!
