Starting out on the right footprint
Energy-efficient home builders eligible for $2,000 rebate

Congratulations to Jordan and Lyndsay Mynatt, who just moved into their home in Leavenworth. It’s their first new home – and they’re the first new-home builders to take advantage of Chelan PUD’s $2,000 rebate for extra-efficient construction.

At only 800 square feet, it occupies a small footprint, which is exactly what the couple wanted.

Big, hairy savings
Bigfoot -- the ultimate social distancer -- is busy adding insulation. You can improve your home's comfort and get money back, too.

Now get up to double rebates on windows and insulation.

Disconnect your devices (and your brain)
If you're spending extra time at home, you may be using more energy than usual. Keep your energy bill in check by turning off and unplugging electrical devices that aren’t in use.

Find ways to disconnect from your electronic devices, too. Take at least 30 minutes a day to get active -- it's good for your physical and mental health!

Other energy-saving tips:

  • Change your heating/cooling system’s filter regularly (check once a month)
  • Upgrade bulbs and fixtures to LEDs
  • Set your computers and monitors to “sleep” after 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity

Get 'smart' before summer
Are you adjusting your thermostat more frequently these days? Programmable thermostats -- especially smart thermostats -- allow you to set it and forget it.

Chelan PUD offers a $100 rebate on smart thermostats.
