Jan-Carlo Duron

Greetings from Mr. Gault

As I mentioned, over the next few editions of our newsletter, I will turn the column over to our recent graduates from the Class of 2020.  Before they graduated, they wrote an essay about their time spent at The De La Salle School.  I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did.

Reading our Dispatch this week one may believe they are seeing double!  The De La Salle School was blessed with twin brothers in our Class of 2020.  Last week we introduced you to Jan-Marco.  This week we would like to introduce you to his twin brother Jan-Carlo.

Have a wonderful Summer and please pray for the Class of 2020 as they begin the next phase of their educational journey.

Live Jesus in our hearts...FOREVER!

"They treat every student like they are family"
My experience at The De La Salle School was fun but also a very good experience. They treat every student like they are family.  I would like to thank all the teachers for teaching me how to be the best me that I can be.  Also I would like to thank Ms. Henao for teaching me how to write a proper essay so that I can be prepared for high school. Even though it was hard for me to  write a good essay, Ms. Henao always helped me and tried to help me write a good essay. I would also like to thank Mrs. Burns and Ms. Buttigieg for always trying to make our classes fun even though sometimes the topics and lessons were really hard.  They also tried to help me and all my classmates to be the best they can.  I would also like to thank Mr. Donodeo for teaching me that life isn't just a smooth road but it's filled with bumps and sometimes hills and mountains that block our path to the end of our goals in life.  I also want to thank Mr. Aristhene for teaching me self defense moves so I can protect myself if it is needed. I also want to thank Ms. Lodespoto for always telling me to push myself when I do my art work and to believe in myself.

Thank you everyone at The De La Salle School,
Jan-Carlo Duron
We invite you so support Jan-Carlo and his classmates with a contribution to
The De La Salle School Graduate Support Program.

Tax Law Changes Affecting Charitable Gifts
The CARES Act, designed to help the nation recover from the pandemic, contains four important implications for charitable giving.

  1. New Charitable Donation Deduction for Non-Itemizers - Taxpayers taking the standard deduction can now claim up to $300 in cash donations as a charitable deduction.
  2. Higher Deduction Limits - Individuals can deduct cash gifts to the extent of their entire adjusted gross income rather than the cap of 60%.
  3. Increased Deduction Limits for Corporations - The contribution limit for cash donations has been increased to 25%.
  4. Required Minimum Distribution - For 2020, there is no mandatory distribution from retirement accounts allowing retirees to recover losses.  Once they do recover, retirement funds provide a tax-wise option for charitable giving.
