Trust's Pop-Up Family Expo Series Starts Saturday! *
The Children's Trust Family Expo will hold the first of its four Pop-Up Style events this Saturday at the Sweet Home Community Campus, 10701 SW 184th Street in Cutler Bay, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trust-funded providers and other exhibitors specializing in children's learning, parenting, education, health, as well as physical, mental and social-emotional wellness will have booths. The Family Expo events are free and also feature entertainment and food. For more details click below.

Registration Open for Virtual Semi-Annual Provider Meeting *
Tuesday, September 14, from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. 
The last two Provider Meetings were a huge success! Let’s keep the momentum going! The Children's Trust will host a general session for all Trust-funded providers from 9-11 am. Breakout sessions will follow for providers in the areas of Youth Development K-5, 6-12, Parenting/Family Strengthening and Partnerships and will take place from 11-12 p.m. Please ensure that all staff members who are essential to our partnership attend this virtual meeting; this includes your executive director/CEO for the morning session, along with the individuals who manage your program for the breakout sessions.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Breakout session log-in details will be provided during the general session.
UM Team Coach Offering Parenting Program Support
Communities of Practice for Parenting Program providers are back up and running! Join a community where members support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. All of the following CoPs are currently being offered virtually and are appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting Programs. If you have any questions or would like additional support, please contact teamcoach@miami.edu.

We know that this uncertain time may be challenging and overwhelming for providers. We believe that, as a community, we have the strength to support one another. During this time, our CoPs will contain extra discussion surrounding COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on your programs, relationships with families, etc.

Parent Stressors & Barriers - This CoP will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. In this CoP, we will be identifying key stressors and barriers your families may currently be facing, as well as identifying and practicing strategies to solve these barriers. Creating Support Networks & Community Outreach/Recruitment - This CoP will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community and discuss program recruitment strategies. You will have the opportunity to get to know other community providers, share information, and support one another. Virtual recruitment will be an ongoing topic. Special Session! The New Normal: Returning to In-Person Services during COVID-19 (Part II)
This CoP will be held on Thursday, September 9, from 9:30-11 a.m. via Zoom. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to share ideas and problem-solve strategies for returning to in-person services for group-based, home-based, and office-based parenting services. We will discuss recruitment, communication, and safety strategies for your staff and participants. Come prepared to share your agency’s ideas to help all programs successfully serve the community. Metrics Site Visits 2021-2022 
We are excited to announce that on-site metrics visits will be taking place this fall. Program managers will visit your programs to review and support your continuous quality improvement efforts. The Metrics tool for 21-22 has been updated and can be found here. Please review carefully with your team as there are some minor updates to the Metrics tool. Updates are highlighted in yellow. Note: visits will begin mid-September. In the upcoming weeks, your program manager will be reaching out for any needed information prior to your visit. If you have any questions, please reach out to your program manager.
SPARK Training to Start the School Year
The Children's Trust is sponsoring two SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) trainings that will be provided in person in September. Both trainings are for contracted Youth Development K-5 providers using SPARK curriculum for fitness and are exactly the same.

The Advocacy Network on Disabilities Training Opportunities
Would you like to schedule an on-site training during your staff orientation to help get your new school year off to a good start?

Count Me In: Discovering Inclusion for Kids - Learn fun, meaningful activities to do with your summer camp students to build their disability awareness and encourage them to appreciate differences.

Structures for Success - Youth both with and without disabilities can behave in challenging ways. Learn the seven basic needs youth exhibit and take away strategies for meeting these needs through positive, preventive approaches. This training is especially relevant to YEN and YAS Providers.

Women's Support Group and Parenting Group *
Inspire4Purpose LLC is excited to launch its Women's Support Group and Parenting Group in August at 2 p.m. on Saturdays for the next 11 weeks. This group will be facilitated at the office doing hybrid classes virtual and in-person meetings. The cost is $30/session for each group. Each group will be facilitated by a trained therapist within the company. 
FREE Education and Early Intervention Mental Health Programs by NAMI *
Teach youth about mental wellness with a FREE program "Ending the Silence" (ETS) presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Miami-Dade County. ETS is a 50-minute or longer virtual/in-person presentation that increases knowledge about warning signs of mental health issues, diminishes stigma, encourages youth and families to seek help, and provides local and national resources. There is also a FREE "Ending the Silence" 60-minute or longer mental wellness presentation for parents/caregivers.

No-Cost Online Treatment to Reduce Child Anxiety Available at UM 
The University of Miami is offering a brief, online program for caregivers to help reduce children’s fear, worry and anxiety. Project EMPOWER helps caregivers respond to their child’s anxiety and related behavior quickly and effectively (in less than 40 minutes) via a fully online, therapist-free program. Project EMPOWER is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
No-Cost Telehealth Treatment at UM for Caregivers of Children with Autism 
The University of Miami is providing a 4-session telehealth group treatment (Project COPE) at no cost for caregivers experiencing anxiety, sadness or stress during COVID-19 that have a child (age 5-13) on the autism spectrum.

Project COPE helps caregivers learn skills to help cope with strong emotions and parenting challenges. The program is based on evidence-based, cognitive behavioral therapy principles and is available in Spanish and English.
Free Virtual Tutoring with Study Buddies
Need tutoring for your students but prices are out of this world? Let Study Buddies tutor your students for free. High school-age volunteers can tutor all subjects K-12! Remember, there is no Buddy like a Study Buddy!
6-Week Workforce Development Program in Banking and Financial Services
Overtown Youth Center is recruiting individuals (18+) to participate in a 6-week job training program. Participation is free and will include interactive classes (Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m., Thursdays, 5-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.) focused on customer service skills, understanding the banking industry, and interview preparation. Program benefits include: networking opportunities, resume assistance, and job placement assistance. Graduates will receive a free laptop upon completion.
Available Mental Health Services for Low-Income Families
The Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH) provides mental health services including Individual/family therapy and psychiatry for children and adolescents in Miami-Dade County. The institute accepts most Medicaid HMO’s and has funding for children of low-income families who do not have insurance. Media Manager
The Media Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Communications with all forms of media, including earned and paid media, sponsored content, and social media.
 The Media Manager will be the primary executor of media strategies as directed by both the Director of Communications and the Director of Public Policy & Community Engagement. The incumbent will also work directly with both marketing and public relations consultants, as assigned. The incumbent will have creative latitude to develop written content in English and Spanish, under the approval of the Director of Communications, and will have the opportunity to pitch and develop media stories.

Communications Project Manager
The Communications Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. In this role, the Communications Project Manager will plan, execute, monitor, control and close out projects while keeping stakeholders informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of the communication's department goals and vision. 
The Communications Project Manager under general guidance from the Director of Communications ensures the internal and external messages, brand and image of The Children’s Trust is consistent.
Program Manager
The Program Manager is responsible for administering and monitoring contracts for various early childhood programs and services throughout Miami-Dade County that are funded by The Children's Trust. This position requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings). Background and experience in data analysis, process improvement and analytics is preferred. The following duties are illustrative for this position: assist with the development and management of the bid solicitation process; monitor funded programs and services; participate in meetings and professional development activities; manage contract amendments and revisions; manage contract compliance; examines and uses data, processes and systems for organizational goals setting.
