Inspiring all girls
to be strong, smart, and bold
We believe in the resilience of our
Girls Inc. community
Dear Girls Inc. Community,

As you and your loved ones are learning to navigate the rapid pace of change and uncertainty of this moment, Girls Inc. is finding its way, too. We are led by the same strong, smart, and bold values we teach our girls. Supported by these values and by our commitment to the safety and well-being of our staff, the youth we serve and their families, we’ve made the difficult decisions to cancel our March 20 Scholarship Fundraising Luncheon and to close our centers and cancel our programs through at least April 3.

While we know these actions are the right steps to take, we acknowledge the additional hardship this causes many of our families who rely upon Girls Inc. as an emotionally and physically safe space for their girls. And we acknowledge the financial hardship these actions place upon our staff, and upon our organization’s ability to continue serving girls in our community longer term. We feel - along with you - the discomfort and stress of this unprecedented moment.

Though day-to-day uncertainty seems to be the new normal for the foreseeable future, we find comfort and inspiration in what we teach our girls each day. We believe we will emerge Stronger, Smarter, and Bolder. Together.

Though our doors may be temporarily closed, we assure you Girls Inc. is still active behind the scenes. Beginning this week, our management team will transition to working remotely from the safety of their own homes. To help minimize the financial burden on our staff we are offering paid sick leave, facilitating unemployment benefits and tracking national efforts for emergency relief.

Our families are looking for some semblance of normalcy. And we are, too. For now, we are continuing to actively plan for summer camps and are working to create contingency plans for those programs. Until further notice, families can continue to enroll for our summer camps by downloading and completing the registration packets found on each program page on our website and emailing them to info@girlsincsb.org with the center/program in the subject line.

We are constantly evaluating local and federal guidance and will continue to align our actions with those of the school districts. Program updates and resources will be shared through our social media accounts (@girlsincsb) and on our website.

We believe in the resilience of our Girls Inc. community. Please continue to take care of yourselves and your families.

Be safe and be well,
