Palo Alto Tree Removal Permit Project

Canopy is thrilled that PhD candidate, Megan Wheeler, has taken on the monumental task to code and prepare an in-depth analysis of over 279 tree removal permits from the past 10 years in Palo Alto. Tree Spotlight: Narrow Leaved Paperbark

The Melaleuca alternifolia , part of the Myrtaceae family, is also known as the “tea tree”. The name derives from Captain James Cook’s visit to Australia in 1770, who brewed a few of the tree’s leaves to prepare a tea. Tea tree oil is extracted from this tree's leaves. Environmental Educator
Under the direction of Canopy’s Education Director, the Environmental Educator will be responsible for Canopy’s growing K-12 lessons at schools in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Mountain View. Find out more about the position and apply.
