Summer Camp Bus Registration - 2019

We are so excited that your child(ren) and/or youth will be joining us for Blast or Drench camp at Blue Lake! It is an incredible week of fun, fellowship, and growing closer to our Lord and Savior!  As we get closer to our camp dates you should receive an email from Blue Lake and also one directly from us regarding a packing list and other items that your child may need during the week at camp!

We are so blessed to have many who register to go with our church to camp each summer! To accommodate all of our SFUMC friends regarding transportation to camp we charter a large bus. If your child is interested and planning on riding the bus with us to and from camp they must register online (here) to confirm/reserve their seat on the bus. Transportation registration deadline is no later than June 1st.

Friendly Reminder! Parents/Guardians of Elementary Aged Campers attending BLAST with SFUMC must attend the Mandatory Parent Meeting, Sunday, July 21st at 2:30 p.m. on our West Campus in Room WD104. This meeting is will cover important information and details regarding the week. Parents that are unable to attend should contact Jennifer Robertson, Director of Children and Nursery Ministries to make alternate arrangements regarding information discussed etc.

 Transportation Schedule & Information:

  • Departure: Monday, July 22nd @ 9:30 a.m. -  Please bring children and youth to the SFUMC office area located on our West Campus (between, Walgreens and Piggly Wiggly) for check in and loading. You will need to come into the office to check your child in and check in any medications that your child will be needing during the week of camp. ALL MEDICATIONS MUST BE TURNED IN AT THIS CHECK IN TIME AND MUST BE LABELED IN ORIGINAL CONTAINTERS.  Please place all meds in a zip-loc bag, labeled with your child’s name and instructions for dosage and administration.

Cost/Fee: To help offset the lunch and bus expenses we ask our participants to consider giving a $20 donation per child if able. This donation is greatly appreciated but is not a requirement in order to ride the bus.

Lunch Will Be Provided on the trip to Blue Lake. Chi-fil-A will be ordered for children/ youth to have for lunch on the way to camp. The choices are 8 count chicken nuggets or chicken sandwich. We will also have chips and water.

  • If your child has food allergies that permit them from this option provided please contact Jennifer Robertson, Director of Children and Nursery Ministries for alternate arrangements for lunch.
  • We will make one stop halfway at the rest stop Milton, FL to use the restroom etc.
  • We will have additional Adult Volunteer Chaperones who will be traveling on Bus with our Children and Youth. Those adults are listed below:
Jennifer Robertson, Director of Children and Nursery Ministries
Teri Smith, Darby Smith’s Mom
Christopher Derocher , Boys
Pam Few, Haley and Alison Few’s Mom

Arrival Home:

  • A chartered bus will arrive at Blue Lake Camp the morning of Saturday, July 27th.
  • We will depart from camp that morning and will return to SFUMC on Saturday the 27th around 12:30 p.m.
  • We will have some snacks on the ride home, but no lunch.
  • Unloading and check out will take place in front of the SFUMC West Campus Office located adjacent to Walgreens and Piggly Wiggly. ALL Items will be unloaded from the bus and ALL MEDICATIONS WILL BE RETURNED TO CHILDREN AND YOUTH! Please do not forget to pick up any medication that remains from the week.
  • Please be sure to remind your child(ren)’s or youth to double check around their seat area on the bus one last time prior to leaving! We often have kiddos not collect all of their belongings and leaving items behind. Tracking down these items after the bus has left our campus can be quite the endeavor.

For additional information and questions regarding transportation for summer camp, please contact Jennifer Robertson, Director of Children’s and Nursery Ministries at jrobertson@spanishfortumc.org or call 251-626-1334.
