NRSS Combined Call for Internship Project Proposals 

A combined call for project proposals for 3 popular NRSS internship programs (including the Future Park Leaders of Emerging Change) is open as of Monday, September 10. During this combined call, parks, programs, and offices are encouraged to review program specifics and submit internship proposals to support their operations. Full program details and application instructions are available through the NRSS Internships Google Site

The Combined Call for Internship Project Proposals
will remain open until Friday, October 19.

Emerging Change

The Future Park Leaders of Emerging Change program builds a pathway for exemplary students in higher education to apply cutting-edge skills and knowledge to various park management issues while gaining valuable work experience, exploring career options, and developing leadership skills. The program assists parks in meeting the complex real-world challenges posed by global drivers of change.

Learn more about some of this year's student experiences and learn how parks can apply to host an intern next summer through the Future Park Leaders of Emerging Change program.

Climate Academy 2019 

The National Conservation Training Center is pleased to announce Climate Academy for 2019 This 8 week online course is designed to cover the fundamentals of climate science, provide tools and resources for climate adaptation, and increase climate literacy and communication. Course participants will then develop a final product (such as a report or presentation) addressing climate and adaptation in their management of natural resources.

Format & Schedule
Class resources and discussion forums will be accessed through Moodle (a distance learning platform) and webinars will be accessed through Webex. A 90-minute webinar session will be held each Wednesday, 1:30pm EST from Jan 9, 2019 through Mar 13, 2019 (with a week off Feb 11). At the conclusion of the class, a final project will be due. 

Cost
This course is FREE for NPS employees.

On Demand Climate Change Training


The Climate Change Response Program invites interested NPS employees, contractors, and volunteers to enjoy unlimited access to the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) library of on-demand and live online training FREE for one full year. This opportunity affords participants unparalleled flexibility to customize training according to their needs and work around busy schedules.
