I want to use this month’s newsletter as my NAWIC 2019 Spring Forum Report. I’m excited to share this experience with you. Our Chapter had myself, Sue Motley and Tracy Miller in attendance.
Las Vegas Chapter did a GREAT Job with the 2019 Spring Forum. They hosted testing for the CIT certification and gave us many opportunities to learn from the many informative speakers.
Sue Motley and I started Friday morning with a visit to the new Raiders Stadium jobsite where we enjoyed a spectacular presentation of the work in progress and what the final project will look like. We had plenty of time for questions and answers from those who are directly involved in many different aspects of the project. (We were asked not to post pictures on social media) But if you ask myself or Sue, I’s sure we would both be happy to share some of our pics as well as information we received.
We had speakers sharing their expertise in Construction Safety and then a presentation on email etiquette. Skills important to all in the construction business.
I enjoyed a Very Informative Presidents Meeting with plenty of National assistance with our Chapter level questions. I always learn So Much from these meetings! This group is always there to answer questions or concerns and offer their support.
Saturday started with a business meeting. We had 125 total in attendance. All 125 are there to learn and to share information with the group. During our time in Vegas we met with many of the National Board Candidates (Remember to Vote!).
We had a very interesting group of speakers from Kiewit Construction sharing some of the women’s journeys into the construction business.
Kenrich Group provided a speaker to talk about the “Good, Bad and Ugly of Troubled Projects”

I Highly Encourage all our members to attend one of these events. It will get you excited about your NAWIC Membership (even more than I know you already are).
We ended with our Banquet featuring Rushia Brown of the Las Vegas Aces speaking to us. Very Inspirational!!! Regional awards were announced and a great time of dancing and networking after the dinner.
Ladies: I just want to say that every time I attend one of these events, I learn, I am inspired, and I get even more excited about NAWIC!
