Caring for Our Community
for 135 Years
On behalf of everyone at Providence Health Care Foundation, our hearts go out to those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. While it is unquestionably a time of anxiety and uncertainty, I continue to be inspired by countless acts of kindness and generosity throughout our community.
More than ever, our local patients and caregivers are counting on us to be there with resources that will help those who need it most. Thanks to the long-standing support of generous community members, we can be.
Health care systems across the country are being stretched as never before and Providence is no exception. Thanks to early and decisive actions taken by local leadership, the medical crisis has been less severe in eastern Washington than in other parts of our country. However, equipment, supplies and operational expenses are skyrocketing while revenue is declining due to reduced surgical and outpatient procedures.
Now more than ever, philanthropy plays a critical role in continuing to provide exceptional care to our friends, family members and neighbors. A gift to Providence Health Care Foundation
is an investment in the health of our community. To learn how you can make a difference, click here

RE-IMAGINING THE POUR 2020
Foundation event shifts focus to support local restaurants, Providence caregivers and needy patients
The annual winemaker's dinner and auction, originally scheduled for June 20, at Arbor Crest, has been re-imagined as a campaign that will make a significant impact during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Avista Foundation has pledge
d $35,000
to fund a digital mental health pl
atform that will offer therapy via computer, iPad or phone. "SilverCloud" will be available to those who are waiting for behavioral health care in Providence outpatient clinics and those who are in treatment but need extra support between appointments. It will also
help therapists continue to engage with patients after discharge.
"Worries and uncertainty about COVID-19 and its impact can be overwhelming for many people. When we learned about how the new SilverCloud app could be helpful, it was easy to say yes and lend a hand to the effort alongside Providence Health Care Foundation," said Kristine Meyer, executive director of the Avista Foundation.
The app is expected to go live by the end of May.

Earlier this week the Foundation awarded a grant to the Providence Medical Research Center (PMRC) to study how COVID-19 impacts congenital heart disease patients.
PMRC was invited to participate in this global study because Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital is the site of
one of only 16
accredited adult/teen congenital heart programs in the country.
Located at Sacred Heart, PMRC is the only physician-led comprehensive medical research center in the Inland Northwest. Researchers coordinate a diverse spectrum of studies, ranging from basic cellular science to new treatment studies, via federally funded programs and industry-sponsored drug and device trials.

For the past six years, students at Gonzaga University have worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for patients at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.
Although this year's on-campus dance marathon had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis, these amazing students didn't let that stop them. Congratulations Zagathon on raising $54,747.48, pushing your six-year total to more than $300,000!
