For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear Parents,

Autumn's beauty has arrived, and so have all our exciting fall events at St. Therese.
Please join us at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish for the Installation Mass of Fr. Li this Sunday, October 27, at St. Barbara Worship Site. Fr. Li's Installation Mass is an excellent opportunity for your student to earn service hours and be a witness to an extraordinary moment in our parish's history.

As you know, the 50-50 Raffle sales have begun. We kindly request that you ask friends and family to purchase additional tickets. Our $1,000 Early Bird drawing will be on Wednesday, October 30, at noon. Thank you for your support of this important fundraiser!

Friday, November 1, classes at both St. Therese campuses will be dismissed at 11:30am, as the staff will be participating in a professional development day. I pray that everyone has a safe and happy Halloween.

Best,
Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi
Principal

Girls 3/4 Volleyball is Underway!!
For the first time in school history, St. Therese has entered into a volleyball league specifically for 3rd/4th Graders. The league takes place at Wilson Community Center in Bridgeport every Thursday Evening and includes many local schools. St. Therese played their first game on October 11th and had a very close match against St. Jerome. The tiny gym, filled and full of spirit as both teams carefully served back and forth, trying to gain an advantage. The Junior Varsity (5th/6th) and Varsity (7th/8th) teams are preparing for their league schedules and will also be participating in local tournaments.

Flag Football keeps on rolling!!
All 3 levels of Flag Football are having great seasons! The Junior Team (3rd/4th) played their first game against St. Catherine-St. Lucy of Oak Park and had a very close finish.  The team looks creative on offense and stout on defense and looks to have great season.  The JV (5th/6th) Team has a 2-2 record and is looking to contend for the Championship against the ever-formidable Ascension from Oak Park.  The Varsity (7th/8th) team has a record of 1-2 and is looking to finish the regular season strong in an effort to improve its positioning for the playoffs.

The St. Therese 8-10 year old Football players and the St. Therese 13-15 year old current and alumni players participated in a 5 on 5 tournament through the Chicago Park District.  The 8-10 Team finished 2nd in the Area tournament at Vittum Park, losing a heartbreaking championship game by 5 points 12-7.  The 13-15 group lost it's only game against the 13-15 team from Vittum Park 13-0, but played very close and came up short 2 times in the red zone trying to score.  It was great to see our St. Therese Alumni still excited about playing Flag Football!
