From the Calhoun County Public Health Department
As of Thursday, April 30, at 11:30 a.m., Calhoun County has a cumulative total of 227 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported to Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD), with a total of 13 deaths attributed to COVID-19 and 56 cumulative hospitalizations.

Resources to prepare for reopening
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have shared new guidance as the nation plans for reopening businesses, workplaces, schools, and public spaces. This guidance is now accessible online and through the CCPHD’s COVID-19 webpage headquarters ( www.calhouncountymi.gov/departments/public_health_department/coronavirus_(COVID-19).php ). The information details steps that all persons can take to move forward while keeping the risk of exposure to COVID-19 as low as possible. While this guidance is part of a larger nation-wide plan and focuses on cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, businesses, schools, it can also be applied to your home. It is important to continue to follow federal, state, and local guidance for reopening. Michigan’s Stay Home Stay Safe Executive Order continues to be in effect through May 15.

Free Condoms Delivered by Mail
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has launched a free condom delivery service for people co-habitating with an intimate partner during the Stay Home Stay Safe Executive Order. Those wishing to participate are asked to send an e-mail to MDHHS-FreeCondoms@Michigan.gov , which includes their name and their mailing address. Participants will receive 10 condoms and individual packets of lubricant. All condoms are mailed discreetly and anonymously, with no logos or labels on the padded envelope. This service aims to help people stay protected against unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who need additional family planning services including STI and HIV testing and treatment, reproductive health services, immunizations, and birth control options are encouraged to contact CCPHD at 269-969-6990 to learn more about modified services that continue to be offered through the clinic
