The 4th annual fundraiser for the LUM Immigration Clinic , Port of Hope, has announced this year's Marketplace items. Close to 200 experiences at 17 special events are available for purchase at the Port of Hope event or online ahead of time. Turkey Trot 5K - New Costume Contest
Turkey Trot 5K Run - fundraiser for LUM programs for local families

Run start time — 8 a.m. | Check-In — 6:30-7:45 a.m.
Cattail Trail Loop – Celery Bog Nature Area, West Lafayette
$35 Adult; $10 Youth (under 13)
The LUM Turkey Trot 5K Run has always been a fun and festive event. In this spirit, the Turkey Trot Costume Contest will be new this year. Many participants already show up in costumes and fancy hats. To honor them and encourage more, this year, for the first time, the Best Costume (adult & youth) will be selected and given a prize. Our contest winners will be selected by judges, one of whothe Indiana State Representative Sheila Klinker and awarded prizes along with the fastest runners at the awards ceremony at 8:45 a.m. on the day of the Turkey Trot 5K Run .
Don't forget to get register for the most festive 5K run of the year — the LUM Turkey Trot 5K Run. Families, dogs, walkers, strollers, wagons, costumes & turkey hats are welcome. It is a great way s tart off your Thanksgiving day. Build lifetime memories — and support local families in need through the programs of Lafayette Urban Ministry .

LUM Thanksgiving Dinner Needs Food Donations
Greater Lafayette Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Celebration
Thanksgiving Day , Thursday, November 28 | Noon to 2 p.m.

Pies and casseroles are needed for the annual LUM Greater Lafayette Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Celebration. Please consider baking and cooking for this special Thanksgiving holiday dinner.

Another way to get involved is to donate needed items (food & supplies) and volunteer before or at the event on Thanksgiving Day. Dozens of volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen, serve food and drinks, greet and assist our guests and, of course, set up, breakdown and clean up.
More than 800 people will be served this Thanksgiving at the LUM Greater Lafayette Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Celebration , and we'd love to have you get involved in some way. You may bake pies, prepare casseroles, donate money , volunteer and donate other food items and supplies.

LUM Bus Drivers Needed - Paid - Part-time
This school year, the LUM After School Program expanded to serve a total of 60 students coming from all three school corporations in our area — SO — additional Bus Drivers are needed . Bus drivers transport children from their schools at dismissal time to the LUM After School Program .
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.
  • Dates: Monday-Friday, NOW through May 19, 2020, when Lafayette School Corporation is in session
  • $20 per hour, 5 hours per week maximum
  • Route: From LUM Ray Ewry Youth Center to Schools to Youth Center
  • Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Bending Toward Justice - 40 Years of Influence
Presentation by Joe Micon, LUM Executive Director
Mark your calendar for this special presentation by Joe Micon , executive director of Lafayette Urban Ministry, on Thursday, November 14 at Noon at the LUM Ray Ewry Center (525 N 4th Street, Lafayette, IN). Micon will reflect on the impact LUM has had, over the decades, working toward social justice and advocacy on behalf of families.
