Capital Area Food Bank - click here https://www.mightycause.com/team/Yddgyf
The Capital Area Food Bank is the anchor of the hunger relief infrastructure in our region, providing more than 30 million meals to people in communities across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. But we don't stop there, because we know that creating long term solutions to hunger requires more than meals. It requires education, training, and opportunity. In short, it demands ideas that address the big picture. That's why we're approaching the problem in multiple ways: providing food for today, and addressing the root causes of hunger by partnering with organizations that provide critical services like job training programs and health care.

So Others Might Eat (SOME): click https://www.some.org/give/donate-now   please enter Blacks In Government the box beneath the amount:

SOME was founded in 1970--50 years ago--from a simple act of kindness. Fr. Horace McKenna started a lunch line at North Capitol and K streets, handing out leftover sandwiches to those in need. That first day, perhaps 10 or 15 people were served. Every day, the line got longer and longer and Fr. McKenna wanted to serve full meals. In 1978, SOME moved to its current location on O Street NW and Fr. McKenna asked Fr. John Adams to become the Executive Director.

Today, with the help of 70 Provide-a-Meal groups and many volunteers, SOME's Dining Room serves 1,200 hot, nutritious meals every single day of the year. But when a person steps into the Dining Room, they find more than a meal. They find compassionate volunteers and staff, a sense of community, and a gateway to all the other services that SOME provides. A hot meal at SOME can lead to a life of sobriety, a living-wage job, and a safe and stable place to live--what Fr. McKenna called 'slow miracles.'
