As we begin to open our businesses and communities, we remind our residents and visitors that, although the Safer at Home orders have been lifted, COVID-19 has not gone away and our recommendations still remain. The efforts we take now will determine how well the virus continues to be contained.
The recommendations linked here
serve as guidelines to control transmission of the virus throughout our communities.

|
|
GATHERING:
Avoid gatherings of 10 or more people or any gathering for which you cannot maintain physical distancing of at least six (6) feet between people not residing in a single living unit or household.
Avoid situations where you are unable to exercise appropriate physical distancing with non-household members.
Consider cancelling or postponing events or gatherings of more than 10 people.
|
|
TRAVELING:
Traveling outside your local community presents additional risks as you are more likely to encounter situations where you have limited control in contact with non-household persons, physical distancing, handwashing, and other protective measures.
Stay home as much as possible, especially if your trip is not essential.
Travel only for essential activities.
Stay home when you are ill and communicate with your workplace and medical provider by phone or e-mail, not in person.

- Starting tomorrow, most Wisconsin state park system properties will return to regular operating hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. A limited number of day-use area restrooms at park properties will reopen for public use beginning June 3. All campsites will remain closed and events and shelter reservations will be canceled through June 7. As we move into the holiday weekend be mindful of the following:
- All restrooms are closed through June 2
- Temporary capacity restrictions will be put into place as needed to manage overcrowding. View current property information before visiting here: Wisconsin State Park Capacity Updates.
- Attractions at which social distancing cannot be achieved are closed at various properties; visit the park notices webpage for information about ongoing closures.
- All other facilities currently closed such as towers, shelters, playgrounds, nature centers, headquarters, entrance stations and concession buildings remain closed to the public.
- When buildings and business are closed for weeks or months, this may result in reduced water usage and potentially stagnant water in building plumbing which can become unsafe to drink or otherwise use for domestic or commercial purposes. WI DNR recommends that building owners and managers take proactive steps to address building water quality prior to reopening. The DNR Drinking Water and Groundwater program has added links and various guidance to its COVID-19 Response Webpage under the tab “Re-Opening/Flushing”
- Dental Offices: CDC has updated their guidance for dental settings
- Recommendations are provided for resuming non-emergency dental care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- New information is included regarding facility and equipment considerations, sterilization and disinfection, and considerations for the use of test-based strategies to inform patient care.
- Expanded recommendations for provision of dental care to both patients with COVID-19 and patients without COVID-19.
- Today DHS announced an expansion of the Resilient Wisconsin initiative. The initiative, which was launched last month, provides strategies for Wisconsinites to reduce stress and build resiliency. The new supports specifically cater to populations most significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. View the entire news release.
- REMINDER: Call your healthcare provider before going into a clinic if you are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19. This allows them to provide guidance, prepare ahead if you need to be seen, and minimize risk to others.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING & HAND WASHING ARE THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST COVID-19
|
|
|
How to Protect Yourself from COVID-19
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating and after going to the bathroom, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
- If you do not have soap and water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Cough or sneeze into an elbow if no tissue is available. Wash your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household disinfectant cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wear a cloth face covering in public settings.
