ListeningWorks Project
Receives Grant from
Einhorn Charitable Trust to
Support
Engagement and Healing Work
In response to the political climate unleashed by the 2016 elections, Youth on Board developed ListeningWorks, a project that supports movement builders and community leaders to incorporate healing and support into the DNA of their organizations and communities. We do this by utilizing our signature
Action and Support model,
which was developed over
three decades
and is
based on
peer counseling, restorative justice and social emotional learning.
Thanks to a grant from the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust's "Helping People Get Along Better Fund", we will deepen our work in Massachusetts and expand nationally to build the ListeningWorks cohort and launch a national community engagement effort. This work is rooted in our listening and healing model and designed to strengthen organizations and to build bridges across divided communities to tackle the most contentious issues facing the country today.
We already have interest from the movement for black lives, and the immigrant, environmental and reproductive justice movements - we are looking for matching grants to sustain that work. ListeningWorks will strengthen and sustain organizations as they utilize the our framework to build the broad based support they will need to win in the current climate.
