William  Bahnfleth is a professor of architectural engineering at Penn State. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He has held industry/government positions as a Principal Investigator at the US Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory and Senior Consultant at ZBA, Inc. He is a Fellow of ASHRAE, ASME, and ISIAQ. Dr. Bahnfleth is the author of over 170 publications and 14 books/book chapters. He was President of ASHRAE in 2013-2014 and currently chairs the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force. His honors include the ASHRAE Exceptional Service Award, Louise and Bill Holladay Distinguished Fellow Award, E.K. Campbell Award for teaching, and the F. Paul Anderson Award – ASHRAE’s highest honor.
