Big Food has a big new idea: reverse climate change through a set of farming practices known as regenerative agriculture. General Mills, Danone, Kellogg and a dozen or so other large companies are betting that applying regenerative agriculture techniques to the farms that supply their products will help capture carbon in the soil and draw it out of the atmosphere. Billions of tons of it. But some scientists and experts aren’t so sure that it will really be the panacea to climate change these companies hope. It may slow the warming of the planet, some say, but as long as we collectively continue to burn fossil fuels, it’s unlikely to stop it.

She’s 81 and she’s not slowing down. That’s probably no surprise since Jane Fonda is not exactly known to be someone who lazes about. This time, she’s taken her concern about climate change to the steps of the Capitol…and a jail cell. Since early October Fonda and a her crew, which often includes some of her celebrity pals, have protested every Friday in Washington, D.C. They’re trying to bring enough attention to the problem that lawmakers will actually do something . And every Friday, she’s been arrested for her efforts. Yet, Fonda keeps going back. “Why be a celebrity if you can’t leverage it for something that is this important?” she told the New York Times. Why indeed.

Her son’s the famous one, but Alex Honold’s mother, Dierdre Wolownick, recently published a memoir, “The Sharp End of Life: A Mother’s Story.” From what we can tell, it sounds like a pretty great read. Chronicling not only what it’s like to raise a child of Honold’s incredible, death-defying, talent,  Wolownick also goes deep into how she overcame a troubled marriage to find a stronger self and an impressive sporting life of her own. Last year she became the oldest woman to climb El Capitan in Yosemtie National Park. She was 66. Seems like athletic prowess runs deep in this family.

"This blanket is incredible!! We take it everywhere with us. It's soft, versatile, warm, lightweight. I love having it for my son when we go on any adventure - and I don't have to worry about it taking up space. Every mom needs one of these blankets! :)"

The merino wool hat was so nice for our walk. It was perfect! Lightweight yet warm, she never tugged at it once!
