Dear Friend,

I just returned from leading a yoga retreat in Iceland, the land of fire and ice. Extremes are the name of the game in this country. In our 7 days we experienced sun, snow, rain, wind, ice, volcanoes, and even a small earthquake.

On the final night I had a conversation with Andreas, our Icelandic host, about why he moved from his home country of Switzerland to Iceland. He told me it was because the land spoke to him on a visit, and he knew he needed the wild energy of this place. He went on to tell me that this country has lots of LIGHT (in the summer nearly 24 hours per day) but it also has lots of DARK (in the winter the sun shines for only a few hours every day). He explained that these wild extremes require the people of Iceland to be resilient.

Resilience is something we all need to cultivate, even if we don’t live in the wilds of Iceland. Resilience helps us withstand the storms of life without getting pummeled. And, after these intense last few years filled with loss, uncertainty and unrest, many of us may feel like our inner resilience reservoir is depleted.

In these past months have you felt:
  • Stuck, like nothing is working and you cannot move forward
  • Like you’ve been on an emotional roller coast (fine one moment and then suddenly hit with sadness, fear, anger)?
  • Overly exhausted despite getting sleep? OR maybe not sleeping well at all?
  • Unsettled, and feeling deflated by all that is happening in the world?
  • Longing for more connection and authentic conversations?
  • Facing your own personal relational, emotional or mental patterns you’ve been stuck in before but have resurfaced with more force during the Pandemic?

Imagine instead...
  • Feeling more in control of your internal states despite the uncertainty in the external world.
  • Allowing all emotions to flow through without getting hooked.
  • Knowing how to brighten your mood and stop ruminating in as quick as 3 minutes.
  • Overcoming shame and guilt (about your body, how you parent, work production, etc).
  • Finally committing to that daily meditation you’ve wanted to do but haven’t figured out how to stay accountable.
  • Finding moments of joy and happiness despite all the change.

If you relate to any of the above, consider joining me for REMIND, an empirically supported 9-week online program designed to “remind” you of your fullest potential and transform anxiety, depression, and stress using the wisdom of yoga, psychology, and neuroscience.

This is the 5th time I will teach this course. Each time it’s a little different because I keep evolving and adding new components. At the end of the course, I’m always humbled (and blown away) by the power of these practices, as well as the power of the group, to profoundly shift people into a new space. Are you ready for something like this?

Enrollment is now open. I’d be honored to have you in this program.

Love,

Betsy
