EL CORAZON AQUATICS CENTER UPDATE
The El Corazon Aquatics Center is taking shape, and we envision generations of Oceansiders enjoying this facility for many, many years into the future. This world-class Aquatics Center will provide competition-level amenities to serve Oceanside residents, school districts, and host regional meets. In addition to competitive facilities, the Aquatics Center will accommodate recreational features for all. Main components include a 56-meter competition pool, diving boards, an instructional pool, a large splash pad, administrative offices, meeting rooms, large multi-purpose hall, locker rooms, and outdoor recreational and viewing areas. The Aquatics Center will add to the active synergy already taking place at the El Corazon property with the SoCal Sports Complex, El Corazon Senior Center, and future trails, recreation areas, residential and commercial development.

HISTORY
The Oceanside City Council authorized the planning and design for an Aquatics facility at the City's El Corazon property in April 2015. Several City Commissions, as well as the City Council approved the designs. In 2019, the City Council agreed to fund the project through the sale of bonds and awarded the construction contract. The ground breaking ceremony was held in late 2019. Work is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2021.
