St. Mark's to celebrate 10th anniversary
this Sunday at 4 PM
Nov. 8, 2009--that was the date of St Mark's first service in Union Church. Join us as we celebrate this milestone--our 10th anniversary--with a service of Evening Prayer conducted by Bishop Skip Adams at 4 PM on Sun., Nov. 10 . The service will be immediately followed by a wine and cheese reception in the church.

Checks requested instead of canned yams
As we hope you've already read, yams for "The Giving" will be bought directly from our locally-owned Piggly Wiggly in order to solve our storage and transport problems. So...instead of toting all those heavy cans around, please write a check to St. Mark's (memo "yams") and drop it off at the Center, place it in the offering plate on Sunday, or put it in the mail. Deadline is Nov. 20. Your check will provide a Thanksgiving meal to those who otherwise might not have one. We'll be sure yams already donated get to the right place. Thank you!
Updated Liturgical Ministry Schedule
Please click HERE to check your dates on the updated schedule. Thanks to everyone who responded so promptly. If you haven't signed up yet, we've saved a few spaces for you! Also, if you'd like to serve in any capacity but never have, just give us a call at the office. We always have room for more. (The schedule is updated on the webpage every Thursday.)

Wednesday series continues
"Walking with Matthew: the World of Jesus in Ancient Palestine” continues on Nov. 13 and 20 , at 10 AM and 6:30 PM. Put on your walking shoes and join us as we look at the gospel that will be the source of our lectionary for the coming Church Year. A light supper is served at 6 PM before the evening session. You're welcome to join us even if you missed the first session, but to get the most out of the series, please read the entire Gospel of Matthew.
