BSMA APPOINTS A REGULATORY & QUALITY SCIENCES EXPERT,
DR. SUSAN BAIN OF USC,
ON THE ADVISORY BOARD OF BSMA
Calabasas, CA, USA, July 28, 2020: The Bio Supply Management Alliance (BSMA) has appointed Dr. Susan Bain, an Assistant Professor of Regulatory and Quality Sciences at USC, to serve on its Board of Advisors to advance innovation in Life Sciences through technology, education and collaboration in the global marketplace.

Devendra Mishra, Executive Director of BSMA, observed, “BSMA is privileged to have Dr. Susan Bain to reinforce the mission to optimize the development of medical devices and drugs. Her research, teaching and experience are uniquely required as COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the FDA to accelerate the overall process of drug and vaccine development. Susan will enhance our understanding of FDA’s regulatory process and enhance our interface with them. Our community will benefit tremendously from her broad and diverse background in developing new medical devices and managing them through the FDA process to commercialization”.
Dr. Susan Bain remarked, “Innovation at USC has been brought about by the collaboration of the university with industry and government regulatory agencies. Our institution has served healthcare for a century but the current times are the most demanding where technology is enabling exponential progress. I believe the BSMA platform is vital for innovation through collaboration”.

Dr. Bain has an extraordinary, diverse background in regulatory compliance in a broad range of FDA-regulated industries including medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries, and as an FDA Investigator. She has held various senior-level management positions in Quality Control/Assurance and Regulatory Affairs with Baxter Healthcare, Grifols, Medegen, Inc., Peregrine Corporation, and Watson Pharmaceuticals.

She is the former Professor of Practice and Program Director for Clinical, Regulatory and Quality at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) and Adjunct Professor of Practice and Concentration Coordinator for Clinical and Regulatory in KGI’s School of Pharmacy . She is an accomplished quality, compliance and regulatory professional with experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries.

Her educational background includes a Doctorate of Regulatory Science (DRSc), a Master of Science in Regulatory Science (MSc) from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Cal Poly, Pomona .
