GREETINGS,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you and your families enjoyed the Christmas holiday, and I wish you a safe and healthy 2021! The Parks and Recreation office at Town Hall, plus our Civic Centers and the Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will be closed New Year's Day, January 1.
As a reminder, we have revised the dates of our youth indoor sports programs beginning in January. The specific dates of each program have been adjusted in order to comply with the State of CT pause on sports which is in effect through January 19, 2021. Additionally, as has been the case, participation numbers are limited and safety precautions, such as wearing masks and social distancing, are required. In order to continue to successfully and safely operate, we need YOUR COOPERATION in following the rules. Should it be necessary for the Town to cancel any programs, refunds will be provided. Should you wish to withdraw from a program, the withdrawal policy is stated below.
The Parks and Recreation Office at Town Hall is open to the public weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. only. Most business can be done online. Office staff are available by email; feel free to contact us. Both the Eastern and Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Centers are closed to the general public, but they have resumed programming. Only those persons registered for programs, and no more than one parent/guardian per youth participant will be admitted to the Civic Centers. The buildings are available for rent for meetings and for rent for recreation activities. No private parties for the time being. The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink is open. More information is found below.
Best regards,
Sue Snyder, Recreation Superintendent
