Greetings!
Have You Been Away With God?
“After Jesus had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone” (Matthew 14:23). In this short passage from Matthew, Jesus teaches us about the importance of prayer. He knows how busy life can be. He is aware that prayer isn’t easy because we’re always tired, distracted, busy, bored, and caught up with many things. Read more...

UPDATED COVID SAFETY PROTOCOL
|
|
Because of the very high transmissibility of the COVID delta variant, the unanimous recommendation is to postpone our picnic to ensure the safety and the well-being of all. We also made a few revisions to Mass protocols. Please watch this video on the recent changes made to address Santa Clara County’s COVID-19 safety measures: Watch here.

Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa
The Second Collection on August 7-8th will be The Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa. Africa faces the economic and social hurdles of enormous debt, epidemic, severe poverty, and political unrest. In spite of these challenges, the Church in Africa has almost tripled in size in the past 30 years.
However, it is difficult for the church to sustain its growth and maintain essential pastoral outreach. The Fund provides grants to finance pastoral projects including outreach programs, schools, evangelization, and education of clergy and lay ministers. To donate, click here.

|
The regrouting under the portico area will be completed before the Masses on Sunday, August 8th. Until then, the church will only be accessible through the side doors. We can resume using the main doors this Sunday. If needed, please use the ADA ramps in front of the parish office or by the church's sacristy door. Thank you for your patience.

Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation
Through the sacraments of Christian initiation, we receive the new life of Christ. Now, we carry this life "in earthen vessels," and it remains "hidden with Christ in God." We are still in our "earthly tent," subject to suffering, illness, and death. This new life as a child of God can be weakened and even lost by sin.

Faith Formation and First Eucharist Registration
Parents: If your children are going into Kinder through 5 th and you would like your children to learn more about their Catholic Faith, we have a process called Faith Formation (formerly called CCD). We have classes on Mondays and Sundays, whichever you prefer. Please consider registering your child/children in the process. It is so important this generation knows their faith and that they grow their relationship with Jesus. For more information and to register, click here.

Catechists Needed
Don’t be afraid, our children need to learn about the Catholic Faith and you know more than they do. Catechists are partners with parents! Consider sharing and passing the Faith with our children through Faith Formation sessions. If you have an interest in this Ministry, please contact Merry Reardon at merry.reardon@dsj.org
