- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) team helps clinicians, public health officials and local communities improve COVID-19 response capacity and preparedness by providing current and reliable information. They are offering a series of webinars on COVID-19 issues for clinicians and posting them on their website for viewing any time. Topics include underlying health conditions and optimizing PPE. - American Nurses Association (ANA) Chief Nursing Officer Debbie Hatmaker, PhD, RN, FAAN, outlines six key points shared with the Administration about PPE supplies and creative staffing strategies to sustain the nursing workforce, which can be reviewed in a press release shared by the ANA. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) expanded Telehealth regulations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Effective for services starting March 6, 2020 and for the duration of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, Medicare will make payment for Medicare telehealth services furnished to patients in broader circumstances. These visits are considered the same as in-person visits and are paid at the same rate as regular, in-person visits.
