Principal Points
Good Afternoon St. Stephen families,

As you know, we have delayed the opening of school to August 24. The good news for us is that it allows teachers time to prepare for the changes we will have this year and hopefully with more time our infection rate will improve in our county. If you are considering the Flexible Learning Plan as an option, please be sure to fill out the request form and return it to Mrs. Robles by August 1. Even though the start of school is delayed, we need to know your intention to participate in that program by Aug. 1.

Please read all of Tidbits for new information and continue to check your email for updates. I continue to pray for everyone and for a return to normalcy.

Peace and Blessings,

Linda Umoh
Opening Date Updated
Our opening date has been extended to August 24. This will be a half day of school for PK and Kindergarten and a full day for grades 1-8. Children should arrive to school with their masks on. Unlike other years, parents will not be able to walk their children to class. We will follow standard drop-off procedures.

All students in grades K-8 should arrive between 7:30-7:45 am to allow sufficient time to walk to class prior to the 7:50 bell. At 7:48 students in K-8 will be directed to stay in their car and proceed to the front office for a late slip. ALL students should be dropped off at the sidewalk through carline. Please do not park and walk your child across. This slows down carline and it is a safety hazard for those crossing. There will be adults available to assist children in getting out of the car. On the first day of school, we will have extra personnel available to help new students and kindergarten students find their way to the classroom. We will also have someone available in the main building to assist all children find their way to class.

From 7:50 - 8:00 PK parents will walk their children to the PK playground gate where they will be met by a classroom assistant. Parents may not enter the playground but may stand outside the gate as they go to meet their teacher at the door.
Get your Questions Answered! Corona Virus Town Hall Meeting
Have you read the Reopening Plan? Do you still have questions? Here is an opportunity to have your questions answered and hear the questions that other parents may have. On Thursday, July 30, at 7 pm we will be having a virtual Town Hall meeting for parents. The event will be live streamed so it is important that you submit your questions ahead of time. During the live meet you will also be able to type in questions which we will address at the end.

Please send your questions to Linda Umoh Lumoh@sscsfl.org by Tuesday, July 28. To join the meeting, click here
How Many?
One of the questions we hear often is how many students are in my child's class. I know this information is important as you decide if you wish to participate in the Flexible Learning Program. Here is the current list of enrollment by class. Please understand that there could be changes and we have had a number of requests for flexible learning. These numbers are total enrollment of students attending school and those doing Flexible Learning for each class.
Calling All Nurses!
Are you a nurse? Do you have time to volunteer at St. Stephen Catholic School this year in this capacity? We are looking for nurses to volunteer in our school office this year. If you are able to do this on a regular basis (even once a week), please contact Mrs. Robles. grobles@sscsfl.org
