CURRENT COMMUNITY MITIGATION LEVEL
SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE
The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.  We also encourage supporting local businesses as can safely be achieved.  Several are offering delivery services, online services, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers and we applaud their efforts.

We encourage you to visit our webpage  https://explorethevillage.com/members/hsv-covid-19/ that is being used to provide the latest updates, including closings and postponements.

We are also using these resources for mitigation planning:
State of Arkansas
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson issued a call for a Special Session
today.

Action items include creating the COVID-19 Rainy Day Fund . This fund provides for the transfer of $173,610,632 from the General Revenue Reserve Allotment Fund. It also authorizes transfers from the Fund to offset related funding needs, with approval from legislative leaders. The legislative leaders will be a panel of three House and three Senate members that include the House Speaker, Senate President, and the majority and minority leaders of both chambers.

You can watch Hutchinson address the General Assembly here.

Y esterday during his daily COVID-19 press conference of an increase in the number of cases, efforts to expedite licensing of doctors and nurses in the state to meet increasing demands, and a directive for citizens to avoid gathering in groups of 10 or more. You can read the directive here

During Hutchinson's press conference today, it was announced that three people in Arkansas have now died from the disease. Two more counties, Lonoke and Randolph, also have had infections. Plasma donations from people who have recovered are sought because their plasma has anti-bodies that may help critically ill patients with COVID-19.

Hutchinson discussed plans to give Arkansans better access to health care without overloading the system. Topics discussed include expansion of tele-medicine and non-emergency transportation.

He also discussed assistance to rural hospitals and health practitioners who may be overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients. Another topic was additional pay for full-time direct care workers. Foster care and homelessness were also discussed.

Golf
After much thought and discussion, the Golf Department has suspended all League play until the COVID-19 crisis improves. The safety of all members is the top priority in Hot Springs Village. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

A reminder to all walkers : walking on the cart paths or course is not permitted when the golf course is open for play. Please adhere to the rules for safety and courtesy reasons.

Use of POA carts has risen significantly because of our single-rider policy and nicer weather. We are adjusting our tee sheets to accommodate as many golfers as possible. Please be patient with us during this time.

We need golfers to return their golf carts to the cart area and empty their trash as soon as they finish with their rounds. Our golf staff will clean and disinfect the carts and make them available for the next golfers as soon as possible.

For your safety, please be patient and don't take dirty golf carts that have not been disinfected and cleaned.
