Hello Everyone!
Not much has changed below, except that our anticipated start date is now set at April 15, based on US Youth Soccer, US Adult Soccer Association, and the West Virginia Soccer Association instructions to member clubs.
If we get pushed back from that date, we have other backup plans - including extending the season a few weeks, and/or having some weekend round robin type play to allow for more games in a shorter season, and/or holding clinics with our Academy staff for the Recreational players, and/or doing weekend friendlies with other clubs (Rec and Academy), and/or holding some camps over the summer to offset anything lost in the spring (multiple camps to accommodate peoples summer schedules), and more!
We are also still rolling out our Virtual Training app to the Academy players, and once we have that process streamlined and completed, we hope to then roll it out to our Jr Academy Skills Clinic players and our Recreational Soccer players!
Like every other business and family in the country (world), we as a soccer community need to come together and all pull in the same direction. We have been very responsible with our finances over the past 8 years, and have not only gotten a lot accomplished, but have managed to pay for it all as we've gone along. Most of our future projects are being pushed back, and we are re-allocating that money to get us through this pandemic - so another big shout out to Cindy Ramsey, for being such a great Treasurer/Business Manager!
Here's some information for each of our Soccer Divisions:

U6 - U19 Youth Recreational Soccer Teams:
This is our oldest division, and we are in the process of making some great changes! We have guest coaches and clinics happening throughout the season, and we will also be introducing our new Virtual Training App to anyone who wants to try it! This spring will be setting the stage for more changes in the fall, and at the U10-High School age groups, we are going to offer a competitive division, potentially playing in the PAWest Soccer League, as well as 1 tournament!
Coaches Training: Coaches, you will be getting your team information and training nights in the next 2 weeks. We will plan to run our coaches training session sometime after April 6 and before April 13!
Picture Days: If your player would like to have an 'official' MUSC picture, we will have a Picture Day, as well as a make up session at a FUNdamentals! Sunday-Funday session! If the entire team would like a team picture, that can be arranged too!
Academy Soccer:
All of our Academy Soccer Players should be set up and completing assignments this week on our new Virtual Training App! Coaches will be working on other assignments for the players during this social distancing break, and we need parents help to make sure they are getting done! Coaches Darren and Andre have been busily planning events/activities for the season - they have a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, yada yada yada...Plan Z! Step 1 - get the app going, and start knocking out assignments!
Adult Soccer:
We have registration set up on the website, but we are not officially opening it, as folks have enough on their minds to deal with right now. We are planning on starting the season on May 26, 2020! We plan to 'officially' open registration on April 15, and anyone wishing to go ahead and register between now and April 15 can get an early bird discount! Just send an email to [email protected]
Please help us get the word out about Morgantown Adult Soccer - the oldest Adult Soccer League in West Virginia! We really want new players!
Pre-Season Training: We plan to hold a weekly training program starting the week of May 4. The sessions will vary week to week and will cover skills, speed and agility, soccer conditioning, and GAMES! More information to follow soon!
Pick-Up: As soon as the Social Distancing/Isolation requirements are lifted, we will resume our Tues/Thurs/Sun adult pickup and maybe even add a few more!
