An Update from the Labor Center on COVID-19
Dear Labor Center community members:

In these unsettling times, we express our full support for the safety and well-being of all workers, especially front-line workers in sectors severely affected by this pandemic. We hope that you and yours are healthy and safe.

To address the challenges of the current crisis, we have made the following changes to our upcoming programming:

  • July ULA application deadline extended to May 1. The application deadline for the upcoming July residency has been extended to May 1, 2020. We hope this extension will allow prospective applicants enough time to prepare their materials. To learn more, please visit our website here. Click here to apply.

  • Classes move online for Spring & Summer 2020. The University has canceled all face-to-face instruction for both Spring and Summer courses. We are responding by designing an exciting online version of our ULA program and will be back in touch with more details.

  • May graduation ceremony canceled. Likewise, due to the restriction placed on large gatherings, UMass has canceled the May graduation ceremony for 2020. We do, however, want to recognize this huge achievement, and we will keep you informed in the weeks ahead about plans to celebrate with our Masters students at a later date.

Please let us know of any calls or needs from your community, or the labor movement more generally, which we might be able to amplify or lift up in some way. In the meantime, faculty, students, and staff at the Labor Center have moved to working and studying remotely, and sheltering in place as much as possible.
