The Lord is my strength and my song; The Lord has become my salvation.
Psalm 118:14
Dear Nassau Church Family,
It is not an exaggeration to say we care for you more than ever. In this time of crisis, the rejuvenation of our church’s love for one another is a call to action and a significant part of how we now live our days.
So in these days ahead, I encourage us to think not of what we’ve lost, but what we’ve gained. I encourage us to consider not only what we’ve curtailed, but also where we might expand our commitments in our life together.
Perhaps we’ll not gather in person for worship, but we can live with a spirit of gratitude that our Lord gathers us in Spirit and truth. Perhaps we’ll not meet for fellowship, but we can find new and creative ways to reach out to one another. Perhaps we’ll not pray in one another’s presence, but we can renew our prayer lives by setting aside time each day to engage in deep prayer for one another and our world.
We are in this together for weeks to come. Be gentle with yourself and calm with others. Continue faith traditions that sustain your soul. Feel your fears and find joy in simple pleasures. Cultivate your friendships. And trust in the One who holds us together.
With the love and peace of your entire church staff,
Lauren J. McFeaters
