Third Annual Piano Duet Concert
The Friends of the NWPL are pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Spring Concert on the Mezz Saturday, March 10 at 2 PM. This wonderful event is organized by our own Sherry Belisle, music teacher extraordinaire, Featured works will be from Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, Debussy, Brahma, Mozart and more. Vernal pool are ephemeral pools that provide critical habitat for many species, including wood frogs and salamanders. Despite their important role, vernal pools remain poorly understood ....

Classics Book Discussion Group:
Maurice
by E. M. Forster
Our next book following Howards End was also E. M. Forster's next book following Howards End, Maurice, a tale about homosexual love and commitment. Although written in 1914, it was not published until 1971.
Forster understood that his homage to same-sex love, if published when he completed it, would probably end his career. Thus, Maurice languished in a drawer for fifty-seven years, the author requesting it be published only after his death. After publication, it has since been made into both a movie and a play.

Breastfeeding Support Group
Are you breastfeeding? Pregnant and plan to breastfeed? Meet monthly to discuss any breastfeeding related issues you may have or to just share/swap stories with other breastfeeding moms.
The group is led by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who can help you through any stage of your breastfeeding journey (pregnancy through weaning).
Cost is totally free and older kids are welcome. Meetings are held in the Children's section of the library.

Emmy has loved photography since she saw her first print magically appear in the darkroom. She spent 10 years at an art and nature center in Massachusetts, coordinating photography workshops plus photographing events and classes.
Her children are her greatest inspiration with their purity, silliness and take on things. Emmy hopes that her images evoke emotion and a dreamlike timeless feel to them.
Exhibit runs February 15 - March 31.

Qigong with Gerry Sandweiss
In Qigong, your awareness is awakened in the first lesson and benefits accrue immediately. When practiced, Qigong helps to reawaken our sense of joy. No equipment needed except one's body.
Gerry Sandweiss has been a student and practitioner Qigong for fifteen years. Classes will be held Saturday mornings at 8:30. Classes held on the NWPL mezzanine - enter through back door of library. Please wear loose clothing and bring a mat and notebook. These classes are suitable for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

Beginner Art Classes on Mezz
The Friends of the NWPL are teaming up with renowned local artist and art instructor, Carolyn Egeli, to offer beginner art classes.
Carolyn teaches the principles of art, including values, color theory, and composition, using traditional art materials. Beginners and intermediate students are invited to develop artistic skills at your own level. Under Carolyn's expert guidance, and the support of your fellow pupils, you will experience the transformative power of art.
On-site lunch break and instructional breaks and time for sharing.
Pre-registration for the four-part course is required.
$320.00 fee.
Register early - limited to 10 pupils.
